NCUA Insurance
The $250,000 question...

Many have been asking if their funds in the credit union are insured by FDIC for $250,000. The answer is that your funds are insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) which is the credit union Equivalent of FDIC. Individual accounts are insured for $250,000 just the same as FDIC. This change in insurance is in effect until the end of December 2009 for both banks and credit unions.
